All staff were courteous and caring.A bit more information about what was happening would have helped.
First of all you sent this review to my husband, i was the patient not him, i have completed this review from his phone. I waited 9-10 hours to be told i wasn’t on the system when i had already had two ECG’s and blood test, i also had a cannula in my arm, but i wasn’t on the system!! Its only when my husband asked a nurse how much longer do we have to wait, that she checked and said she couldn’t find me, then she called me in asked my details , checked my blood pressure which was 215! Then she went and spoke to someone else and thats when i was called in, then had to wait another two hours, then sent for an x-ray, then i was told i had a chest infection although i had no symptoms, and when i asked what was checked in my blood test he said “we checked what you came in here for” - such a disappointment! Waited 10 hrs and i can’t even have a proper conversation with the doctor which i am entitled to.
Staff worked hard in a caring way.pleasant nurses
Although it was a long wait I could appreciate how busy the department was. I was kept informed at all times.
Overall the staff were polite and courteous however they were overwhelmed and did not have the resources that they would like. The CT Scan team took 4 hours between seeing people and there was an unexplained absence there.
I was told they couldn't help me, I have UC and was in a flare up and was told there is nothing they can do
Very bad services waited nearly 6hrs with out seeing the doc
Came out
More efficient
The waiting time of 12+ hours was horrific. I was able to get pain relief after about 6 hours. The medical staff did their best, as they were seriously understaffed. That night there was only one doctor on call. The following day only 2 doctors showed up. This is unacceptable for a health scare system of a developed nation. After waiting over 12 hours I still wasn’t able to get final answers about what my CT scan meant, because the doctor was relying on a ENT specialist at Queen’s to give their second opinion on the CT scan. The specialist at Queen’s obviously had now time for this and said they would look after their shift. No clarity on when that would be, so for my own mental and physical health I went home.
I can't fault the way staff, nurses and doctors treated me. They were all suoer friendly and kind. Listened well and were not quick to brush you off. I have 1 complaint only. I came jn with chest pain and left arm pain. I saw a doctor about an hour and a half after arriving. The doctor was thorough and requested i get an ecg, chest x ray and blood tests. I waited 3 hours after being seen by the doctor and saw many patients come and go. I did think a blood test and ecg should have been done asap...so 3 hours after seeing the doctor i went to find out why i hadn't been called. Turns out they missed me out some how and a nurse quickly did s blood test right there in the corridor. He told me to stay there and that i woukd get an ecg soon. I did literally 5 minutes later. Had i not gone to find out why i hadnt been called.... i would have waited even longer.
